What this test measures
Hemoglobin F, also called fetal hemoglobin, is the form of hemoglobin that predominates before birth and makes up a small share of the total in most adults. A hemoglobin electrophoresis test reports it as a percentage of all the hemoglobin present rather than as a concentration.
