What this test measures
Hemoglobin A2 is one of the forms of hemoglobin present in red blood cells. A hemoglobin electrophoresis test separates the forms that are present and reports each as a percentage of the total, so hemoglobin A2 is expressed as its share of all hemoglobin rather than as a concentration.
